The gear shift design allows dust, cigarette ash, coffee, soda and other sugary beverage to gather below preventing the driver to change gears. Resulting sometimes in preventing the transmission from shifting or gears being lock. Which poses a danger to the driver and perhaps to the public. This need to be looked at immediately by NHTSA
