infotainment goes blank & won't function

Infotainment goes blank periodically and is unresponsive. Buttons around screen, on screen and steering wheel won't function. Sometimes resets while driving or after restarting. Had Sirius/XM reload system, but problem persists. Will contact dealer for help at next regular service.

OK, brought vehicle back to dealership three times, they have had it for two weeks now and still not fixed. Not the dealerships fault as I see it but rather Chryslers fault for not simply replacing it. Come on, the damn thing is new, and when the screen goes blank which it has done on several occasions, the wipers, radio turn signals and low beam lights don't work. The dealership told me today they are waiting to hear back from engineering at Chrysler. After two weeks, I WANT A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE AND EXPECT CHRYSLER TO TREAT ME A LITTLE BETTER.

My wife currently drives a Jeep but I can tell you when her lease it up she will not be driving another one, not because of a malfunction which can happen with anything mechanical, BUT BECAUSE OF THE WAY CHRYSLER HAS TREATED ME IN THIS SITUATION.

Nuff said.

Early in the day on the date mentioned, I found that the touch screen did not function properly. It was returned to the dealer where the maintenance manager indicated that the screen was cracked and I was at fault. The screen shows no damage and was not abused. It was rejected as unwarrantable issue and I was ask to pay $900 for a replacement. The vehicle is new. The video on the screen is fine but the touch system does not work rendering the controls useless. I cannot fully operate the climate control, radio and many other accessories.

infotainment uconnect touchscreen dead

Same as what has happened to me 4 other times. Exactly the same as what happened on March 8, 2015. My Cherokee had been sitting in my residential parking spot overnight and when I started the vehicle, the Uconnect screen was dead. It remained dead the entire drive into work. This time, I managed to save a cell phone video and will show it to the dealer when I take it back in on March 13.

I bought my Jeep Cherokee new a month ago and have been a loyal Jeep owner/customer for over 10yrs; this is the first vehicle I've ever had serious problems with that wasn't caused by age...disappointing.

Update from Mar 17, 2015: Took my Cherokee back to the dealer on March 13, 2015. They couldn't duplicate the issue or figure out what was wrong, their best guess is that there's a "grounding" issue. I gave them my cell phone video as proof so they're ordering a new Infotainment/Uconnect system and will replace the whole unit when the part comes in. I know the idea was dismissed when I mentioned it to the service agent, but I have to wonder if temperature played a part as it's only acted up in early morning or late afternoon (typically the coolest and hottest parts of the day). At the time of this post, the Uconnect in my brand new Jeep Cherokee has gone dead 5 times since I bought on February 7, 2015.

Update from Apr 15, 2015: After waiting for the part to come in, I had the entire Uconnect/Infotainment system replaced (no cost to me) on April 7, 2015 and so far so good. Fingers crossed!

March 6, 2015: Took the car through a car wash and turned my vehicle off while waiting. When I started my car back up the Infotainment/Uconnect screen was dead. I turned it off/on again and the Uconnect system worked.
