My wife was driving about 70 mph in Rush Hour traffic. The car suddenly lost power. When she tried to accelerate the car would not exceed 40 mph. Scott Robinson dealership in Torrance requires a $150.00 Diagnostic Test to try to assess the problem. The car was dropped of on a Thursday and as of Monday, the problem has not been fixed. My understanding is that the diagnostic shows that there may be a transmission issue. However, their transmission specialist has not conducted an inspection despite having the car Thursday, Friday, the weekend and Oh! He didn't come to work Monday. Regrettably, my wife pre-authorized a $350.00 Brake Job even though she doesn't want to drive the car unless the dealer can fix the dangerous deceleration issue. The only "brakes" necessary are those that stop throwing good money after bad.
This car has been a reliable vehicle since the purchase in 2009 (Used). It will now be Tuesday before we can learn more about the primary problem .
