I was driving on a straight stretch, roughly 55mph with no traffic or any other obstacles anywhere near me, when my forward collision system alarms started going off and the screen started flashing BRAKE! BRAKE! I did not brake since there was nothing there, and the car did NOT apply the brakes. If the system actually detected a collision was about to happen, it should have applied the brakes. If there was no collision about to happen, the alarms should not have been going off. Either way, the system clearly malfunctioned. It did this for approximately 10-15 seconds and then stopped. The vehicle is currently at the dealer for service for this issue.
