Driver's side door lower hinge wore out and became loose, causing the door to sag. The latch mechanism was misaligned, and the door became detached from the mount position. The vehicle door would not close due to the latch mechanism failing.

Eventually the door structure around the lock breaks due to stress and the result is the door cannot be closed or held against the car.
