The ECM causes intermittent power loss including loss of power steering and power brakes. This occurs at stops, turns, and normal highway speeds. The dealer service department reports that it is the ECM because "when they rap on it with a wrench during idling, is causes the car to stall." The ECM does not record a failure.

Fuel pump/gas tank/computer all need to be replaced as a result of deterioration of the gas tank lining. Fuel pump overheated, causing computer to malfunction and eventually break. How many people does it take to lose a ton of money because of a defective product that could be dangerous while driving to issue a recall.
