This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I'm inquiring about an announced recall (N45) of the vehicle earlier this year. After about five months I've yet to receive a recall letter. The dealer doesn't seem to care. Chrysler tells me NHTSA is the holdup. NHTSA tells me it is in legal. I'm tired of the run around. Supposedly there is a safety issue with the placement of the fuel tank behind the rear axle. I've read Chrysler proposes to install a tow hitch on affected vehicles. That doesn't seem to hard a fix and surely doesn't require a half year or more resolution. If there is a safety issue why is it taking so long to resolve? if it's not a safety issue then I don't understand why a recall was issued. I am requesting that the issue receive some attention so it can be resolved. It has taken way too long already.
