Purchased this vehicle used, from the original owner and now going on 3 months of ownership and having experienced the issues I have, I can honestly say that I will NEVER purchase another Jeep/Chrysler or Dodge product! I am discovering that the issues my Grand Cherokee is experiencing are quite common and that there are numerous frustrated consumers out there! This is not acceptable and I could not in good conscious sell this car to another unsuspecting consumer! Shame on Jeep for putting this product out there in the first place. In addition to a couple of other issues, one that my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee is exhibiting is random failure to start. After being driven once on any given day, for the rest of the day there is a possibility that when you go to restart the engine, it will only crank but never turn over. You can be sure that it is not going to start when you turn the key to the on position and listen and watch: if you don't hear the fuel pump engage and then none of the gauges function, GUARANTEED that the vehicle is not taking you anywhere. The time between the onset of each incident to when it finally does start can range from a few minutes to several hours. Jeep needs to figure this out ASAP!
