Jeep dies while driving, and now won't run at all. Ran codes with code checker and it says crankshaft position sensor. Does that sound right? Well, that's being changed right now but should it be so hard to get to?

Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L In-Line 6

My wife and I bought this 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee from a friend that works at our credit union. Her daughter had drove the jeep back and forth to college for a couple of years. They said that nothing like my problem had occurred to the best of their knowledge. It had about 126000 miles on it when they bought it for the daughter to drive to school. I got the Jeep for a decent price and it was to be used for short trips and errands instead of our Chrysler 300. I also have a 2010 Ford F-150 and I wanted to keep the mileage down on it also. Well, Here is what started after I took possession of the Jeep. It would just shut off while you are driving. No warning what so ever. Usually you can slip it into neutral and it will crank back up and run fine. But, then it may not. You have to pull off the road and let it sit for a while. Sometimes a few minutes, sometimes more. When it restarts , it is a clean start, no backfires, no shuttering, no skipping, nothing. It is a clean start every time and it runs like a new car. I am afraid that my wife can't steer it or stop it and will be in an accident. I took it to the dealer and their best Jeep mechanic kept it for two weeks and drove it everyday and could not duplicate my problem. They told me that every thing checked out perfect on the Jeep. No electrical, no mechanical, no nothing. Every thing was good. They did two recalls and I picked the Jeep up. I started home and about 5 miles from the dealership it went dead and I had to pull off the road and let it set before it would crank up and run. I went back to the dealer and they said "WE could not make it do that" They said drive it, just be careful. HELP, What can I do. I like the Jeep. Why does Chrysler not answer this question?
