I have had two Jeeps and both of them had this same problem. The first Jeep was a lot later in the life of the vehicle, but the 2004 was within a year or so and was not under warranty. The part alone was over 650.00 dollars at that time. It's a shame that both Jeep's had the same problems, which were 9 years apart in age.
The 2004 Jeep, I will not correct this problem ( could not afford replacing seat motors, all one mechanism) due to the fact I have had other more important problems which caused a lot of hardship on our household and should not happen at it's mileage and being a 4x4 vehicle. I used to really love the Jeep's but our household had to get a better vehicle for gas mileage and now it has been the best and most fun vehicle I have ever owned or driven.
