2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo involved in the P41 ignition recall. Vehicle continues to not start randomly throughout the day. This time enough was enough...it has spent 2 days sitting idle. Battery new. Alternator new. Starter checked out clean. Waited hours for service only to turn the key and it worked. Drove it 15 miles to my home, and turned it off. Went to restart it and nothing. This has been going on for over a year, but anytime I have it towed it starts up. Nothing in the diagnostics.

Called recall hotline and was told it was unrelated...how can it be unrelated if the only thing that gets the Jeep going again is wiggling the key?? Inexcusable that they can't inform dealers of what the part will be - mechanical or electrical - and Shame on Jeep for taking over a year to get replacement parts for this problem. I do believe this is an electrical related ignition issue and it is not getting enough contact to start the vehicle. Are there other people out there that have had starting issues and wiggled their key to get it to start? Either enough people haven't complained...or they need to get some lawsuits from accidents caused by faulty ignition switches.

This P41 Ignition switch recall. My key is also not working as it is not communication with the system. Towed to dealer and got the reply, need to get new key and it can cost from $400-$700 and still won't be sure if it starts or not. owed it back and now sitting in my parking lot as a show piece.

I have been calling and emailing Chrysler dealers and manufacturers but all in vain except apologizing, they give no solution. I begged as winter is here and I have no other car and I need to keep my job and have requested for loaner as I can't afford it or can I get a rental and if they can promise to reimburse it. Dealers are not giving any time frame when the ignition switch will be available.

GM has offered to come and get it repaired to their customers and what about Chrysler, I asked, and reply was they don't have the part. Holidays coming up and family coming from out of country and kids coming home from college from out of state but no car. My Jeep stalled number of times and luckily no one was hurt and I checked with auto insurance to provide rental, reply was no, as car is not in crash. I am taking help from friends and all means of public transportation to reach work and there is no direct transplantation from my home to work and back and for doing errands.

I am desperate and frustrated. cannot go anywhere and not even to doctors. My health is being affected and I don't know how long my friends will help me and one has to repay as no one helps for free. Please help!!!!!
