When describing what happened with your vehicle, tell us specifically if the vehicle was stationary, in motion, on a city street or a highway, turning, braking, etc. Describe the fault or problem that created the unsafe condition. If you know, state the component part or system that you believe may be the cause of the safety risk. If you are uncertain, simply state unknown and provide your best assessment of the incident and cause in your description. If you have other information - repair invoices, police accident reports, insurance claim forms, etc. - scan them electronically and upload them along with your complaint. If your complaint is about a recall and you have the recall number available, please provide it. Additionally, if you later obtain information and evidence related to your complaint, please retain it for at least five years, in the event that we contact you for further information. Less

All of the dash lights up, flashes/flutter/flickers, radio shuts off, HVAC system shuts off, but engine still runs. This only happens when the car is on, however it can happen while in motion or in park.. but I do not see a pattern beyond that (like when it rains or is humid). I have tried to make it happen by juggling my ignition because I know that is a thing, but that never initiates the problem.

At random times while driving, while in park, and just after startup, all dashboard gauges, lights, and power goes out, headlights turn off, but the engine still runs. I cannot see what is in front of me at night, I cannot tell my speed, I cannot see my fuel level, etc. The outage lasts from 2-30 seconds before every single warning light will illuminate for a few seconds, or flicker on and off, and then return to normal. I replaced the ignition 2 years ago from a previous recall notice. This is extremely dangerous because I never know when it will happen, it could happen at night on a heavily trafficked street and I lose all power and lights!

While driving on a city street last night, all lights on the dashboard light up and then go off and my gauges don't work, my headlights and turn signals don't work, nothing works in the interior. Vehicle still runs, but electrical stuff doesn't work. Could not use a turn signal to get out of traffic and off the road and it was dark. This has happened more than once and I'm afraid to drive any distance or trip. I try to get off the road and turn the car off for a few seconds, turn it back on and things go back to normal except the check engine light or the anti lock brake light may or may not stay on for a day or so and then it will go off. So intermittent and happens so suddenly without warning. This will also happen sometimes when I start the vehicle after it has been parked for a while.

The vehicle will not stay started. Took the Jeep to a dealership and was told the part that is needed will not be available until December. Part is called skim module. Part is VIN specific. Is there an alternative? I use this vehicle for work and cannot be without a vehicle for 5 months. I was very disappointed to hear Chrysler cannot repair my vehicle due to a part availability and length of time. I having purchasing Chrysler products for 30 years.

Takata recall. My Jeep randomly and frequently loses connection with the electronic shift module, when this happens it gets stuck in random gears and it will not move fast (safely) when I accelerate unless the car is restarted but then it'll happen again almost immediately after. This happens almost every time I stop, and sometimes happens while driving. This is a well known issue with the 05-10 model years that Jeep has swept under the rug and ignored for years. It has caused damage to my cars transmission and has made me feel unsafe driving my vehicle.

When driving or sitting stationary all lights and gauges go out on the dash board. Was told it was the ignition switch. I had the ignition switch recall performed. Vehicle still randomly has the same issue. Fm radio very bad reception. Numerous postings on internet about both of these issues.

While driving all the instrument / gage lights came on then went off several times, while this was going on the vehicle speedometer and tachometer went to zero stayed for a few seconds, long enough for me to pull to the side of the road, then resumed operating. Not sure if direction lighting was responding on exterior of vehicle at the time. Or head lights, as it was daytime. I had difficulty getting people to acknowledge as it's generally a very busy road traveled. Meridian rd puyallup wa.

Middle backseat seatbelt is stuck unfastened, unable to fasten seatbelt, unable to place small children or babies in the middle seat. Middle seatbelt is not a lap belt, it goes across the chest. Safest seat is now the most unsafe position in the car. When trying to start the ignition, the key has to be turned several times and can take up to five minutes until the car ignition will turn on to start car.

I purchased my 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.7L V6 with 79K miles on it June 21, 2016. In July of 2017, it started to bog down with a constant shutter when starting up and accelerating, the cel was also on. I took it in to have the cel checked out and it was showing 22 codes saying that the O2 sensor had a high voltage circuit. Upon examinng and testing the O2 sensor there was nothing found to be wrong. A couple weeks later the cel came on again, but this time it showed the same O2 sensor was running lean and rich at the same time. I replaced the sensor at that time. Now it is showing another code P0430 and the timing chain for the electronic shift transmission is jumping. I was informed this happens to these transmissions all the time and there is no repair for it. All I can do is drive it until it goes and buy a new transmission. This is not fair

I have owned my vehicle since 2008 at 32,000 miles, the sunroof worked great for a few years then I noticed that the sunroof would close passed the roof line of the Jeep. I did not think of it much because I assumed that the Jeep would have a secondary seal on the inside of the roof line, in between the headliner to keep debris and water out of the inside. This is not the case, it started snowing heavily and the next couple of days the sun melted everything away. I got in my Jeep and realized while I was driving that I had water pouring on my leg and through the map lights in the center. By the time I got to my destination, work, my pants were completely soaked and my center console completely drenched. This being that the sunroof had nothing to keep the melting snow out of the vehicle. Sunroof is made with a faulty cog set that wears away too quickly. Instead of having to spend almost one thousand dollars as I was quoted in 2011 for them to place in a new cog made of the same brittle plastic. I choose to stop my motor from over closing, rendering the sunroof always showing up in scanners as open. However with me concentrating that the sunroof closes correctly I still have leaks in the sunroof. My Jeep has to stay outside, meaning any time it snow, but I'm not driving, I always have to brush the roof off just the ensure I don't have the same issues. My vehicle now just passed 125000 miles. Since the issues I've had over the years, I've pulled up the carpet while cleaning the vehicle only to notice so much rust in the floor pans.. thankfully I had thought to pull the carpet and have taken precautionary measures to ensure that my vehicle does not continue to rust.
