sudden unintended acceleration

I reported this problem to Chrysler / Jeep Corporate in Early January. I am going to the dealer this Monday to have them check it.

Although there have been several recent occurrences of the issue, thankfully throwing it into neutral has been a possibility and worked thus far. It's definitely a matter of time though. This is a truly dangerous problem that needs corrected post haste.

On June 17, 2014 when backing into parking space the car took off like a rocket ship/full throttle (5.7 Hemi) like it had a mind of it's own. The result was property damage (unknown amount) and car damage not including car rental for 2 weeks. Chrysler sent inspector to body shop and their determination was they found nothing wrong and said the case is closed. A Jeep/Chrysler dealership replaced the throttle body January 31, 2014 under warranty. We know this was not driver error. It was the scariest 15 seconds of our lives and could have easily killed someone. Now we wonder when will it happen again? We would like to know, has there ever been an engine going to full throttle accident involving a 2005 Jeep/Chrysler product?

I had this Jeep for two years, loved everything about it, never in my wildest dream did I ever expect this to happen. As usual I pulled in my driveway, put the door up, I have to be really careful and center the car to fit in the garage carefully so the rear mirrors don't scratch the side of the garage. I wanted to get a little closer to make sure I was centered, stepped ever so lightly and the car bolted like a bat out of hell. In just a matter of seconds it went thru the garage into the wall, knocked everything, including a upright freezer, out into the yard, everything in its path was destroyed.

I was not hurt physically but my dreams are terrible. I had just been to a mini-mall earlier and suppose that would have happened there? I shiver to think I could have been responsible for hurting or killing an innocent person. I pray every night and thank God that no one was hurt, I never ever saw a car from a dead stop barrel that fast, and I hope never to ever see that again.

When they pulled the car out,the tires in the back were spinning fast, something was definitely wrong with the accelerator. I am writing this to let you be aware of this problem so in the future no innocent person suffers or gets killed. I could not live with myself if I didn't report this to you and the government. Hopefully my nightmares will end and I will manage to go on and forget this. Please don't sweep this under the mat until someone is killed. I implore you to act on this immediately. Thank you for listening.

Stopped at the mailbox at the end of the driveway. Proceeded up the driveway, and when I was 3/4 of the way up approaching entering the garage (at about 2 miles an hour) the jeep took off!!

I was pumping and applying the brakes, but the jeep would not stop. It climbed the garage steps into the house, then went into the garage wall into the house. Air bag went off, and car stalled out. Oh my God, was I scared! Police estimate the jeep went from 2 miles to hitting the house at 25 - 30 miles an hour.

$12,000 damage to jeep, and it was not considered totaled since it was a fully loaded vehicle and in once great condition. House damage unknown at this time. Never will this jeep come into my garage again. Looking for a new vehicle.
