seat belt retractor is stuck

I bought this car in Nov. 2015 because i like jeep and because it had the right amount of seat belts i needed. I did not know there was a problem with the middle back seat belt retractor until i tried to put my grand daughter in it. When we took it to the dealer to fix issues on 2 other recalls they said it would be about $500 to fix the seat belt. It's squishing down the back part of seat it's connected to. I have 4 grand kids i take to school and 1 can't wear a seat belt. Not only is this against the law it's a big time safety issue!! I see others are having the same problem and feel something should be done about this, I just don't know how to go about it. I have read other complaints and see where some have had theirs fixed but it was an on ongoing problem. Why should we have to pay so much for something that is a safety issue with this car? The company needs to do something about this problem before someone is hurt or worse killed!!

I was traveling with my niece the other day from picking her up from day care. she likes to sit in the rear middle seat because she can then see me. When we got home she said I can't get out! I had no idea what she meant and when I look she could unlock the seat belt but could not pull it out to get it off of her, the thing basically pulled her tightly up against the seat. I thought to cut it but figured then I'd have to replace the hole thing and there should be a simply fix. I pulled her out while my dad pulled the seat belt just to give the slightest amount of room. She did have skin abrasions from the tension. Once she was out it retracted all the way and now cannot be pulled out at all.

This is basically an unusable seat now, no accident, no brakes slammed, this has to be a defect and should be a safety recall. For all I know it could have squeezed her to death.

What's up with this Jeep? And fix it! I want this addressed as a recall.
