The airbag light came on about 7 years ago and has been on since. I don't know if it's possible to reset with significant cost.

As of July 7, 2014 my airbag light has come on. I don't know what's wrong but after reading other blogs I'm understanding that my airbags are turned off now. Some people have said to check under the seats to make sure the wires are OK and to make sure there is nothing under the seats. I did find a water bottle stuck under the driver's seat and some bloggers are saying that the weights will need to be recalibrated. I have also read that can cost up to $1000 (which I don't have and my warranty is expired). Any suggestions?
