Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.0L -Diesel

Since I bought this Jeep it has been the worse vehicle I have ever owned. Check engine light is always coming on, I have it scanned it shows a fault code I replace that part and the check engine light comes back. Same code f--ck . So I take it today to small garage (not Chrysler) they tell me my EMC is gone. That means I have been replacing parts that are not faulty. Chrysler knows these EMC's are garbage they only last past warranty. I just read on some web site that you can't buy EMCs . Don't no if that is true (my luck it is). This Jeep/Chrysler is putting me in the poor house. I like the Grand Cherokee's but unless I win the lottery it's time to get away from Chrysler. And Never buy one again. I wish they go bankrupt it would look good on them !!

Grand Cherokee Limited 3.0L Crd

Many faults like stalling, poor running, swirl motor failures, throttle failures, sudden acceleration, loss of power, windows not working, air bag failures, and many others can be traced back to a WIN module problem. Recalls have been initiated and NHTSA has been given information that does not reflect the true nature of many of the issues with these Fiat-Chrysler (F-C) vehicles.

Failures within the WIN can generate a wide range of problems most of which do not report an accurate DTC. This makes it difficult to impossible for the dealer's technicians to diagnose the failure correctly, resulting often in costly repairs that do not address the true problem. This module affects so many functions from tire pressure monitoring to the air bags operation. Unfortunately, you may be told that it is not a safety problem and end up driving a car with no air bags operational. Also, failures occur randomly and with no warning at any mileage. There are no preventative measures you can take except junk the vehicle.

These vehicles have had sudden acceleration incidents too so bad that in 2013 the car wash industry banned them from being washed due to many accidents while in the car wash.

It appears that F-C has known for years of this problem but they have taken the position of "aging out the problem" by doing nothing until very few vehicles are left on the road. The NHTSA efforts are too little too late and the owners are being told these vehicles are safe to drive. In my opinion having recently (07-17-2015) experienced a sudden acceleration accident, I have the opinion anyone who drives this vehicle is putting themselves and others on the road in danger. Even the more common stalling or loss of power can lead to very serious consequences when you are in traffic.

Before you buy or drive this vehicle check the data available on the web and beware. The dealer where my vehicle is now can't fix my car because the WIN module is broken and there are no modules available that will fix it. I can't even get a date when the car can be fixed. Furthermore, you can't use a module from the junk yard or obtain one from a third party parts supplier. F-C has no current solution as of this writing 7-29-2015 though this part has been under recall by NHTSA since August 2014.

If I were to add the number of failures I have had in the last 5 years it would result in hundreds of complaints. I thought I would drive it till it was dead and it is really dead now!
