The car has problems starting often for a long time, we had checked and at first new battery. Giggling

the battery often works, but last week was the first time it stalled in the middle of driving 50 miles an hour and very lucky a serious accident did not happen. We have been to a dealer three times, the first was to get the recall on ignition done and we hoped this would fix but seems to have made issue worse. We have been to 2 different dealers in metro Atlanta area and they have charged us for mutli point inspections and they say nothing is wrong with the car - seriously. We are at a loss other than buy a new car, but it is a serious situation. Both dealers seem clueless to help and it is like they are not aware of this

situation when I know it has been all over the news and people have died because of this problem.

First of all, I am so disappointed with Chrysler Jeep, as I have been a long time driver of Jeeps. It truly surprises me that this car is being sold when there is a major dysfunction. Purchased car in June 2013. About 1 week after warranty expiration car began cutting off. Ignition on, motor running, stepped on gas and motor died. Did not immediately recognize problem. Wife was driving in heavy freeway traffic and motor died. Almost caused an accident. Intermittently since then motor has cutoff and have to drift to curb., and restart.

This is a very dangerous condition and Chrysler Jeep should see about a recall before a fatality occurs. The last time it happened, had to have car towed. After reading about others experiences, the repairs recorded in this complaint space all have not fixed the problem. So why should I take it to Jeep and go thru the same expensive ($700) repair process for nothing.( or to work for awhile and then fail again) Now because of economics I am forced to go short distances at least with the motor dying every few blocks, and having to stop and restart. This cannot continue. There must be a fix.

Engine shut down at 70 MPH. This is the 3rd time it has done this in the last 9 months. The vehicle will start up after stopping. Took into dealership and they could not find anything on the vehicle computer. They did say they were familar with the shutdown problem. I was advised to talk with Chrysler. At this time, they refuse to do anything about it other than charge me a $1300 deposit to install some type of recorder with a button to push when it happens again. I told them it is a major safety problem to drive the vehicle. I also have a 7 year/100,000 mile platinum wraparound policy that is still in effect that should cover the necessary repairs (if only Chrysler would authorize them). I believe the Chrysler Engineers are familiar with the problem and know what items to replace (electrical harness, computer, ignition module, spark plugs/coil, etc). They are playing the same game that GM is dealing with now on the key issue, which is to not fix the problem or have a recall untill they have a number of fatalities.

While driving home the Jeep stalled. Lost power brakes, power steering, all dash displays. Brought to Jeep and they said they didn't find anything.
