Safety recall Z46 has been published for over a year and Jeep keeps telling me they cannot get parts. My fuel pump started making a loud ticking noise and I needed to make a 2000 mile trip to western states where support is not readily available. I checked and had no problem finding parts to complete the recall. I contacted Jeep customer care and they authorized me to buy the parts and have the work completed at a Jeep dealership then apply fur the reimbursement. I bought a fuel pump, had the work completed, and applied did reimbursement but Jeep customer care will not pay for the recall work or part as the pump had not failed. I believe that Jeep is stalling the completion of this recall hoping that there will be fewer still in service once they do start the work. I found parts available from over 10 different sources and it took only 3 days to get them. Jeep is making a mockery of the safety recall process and putting customers and their families at risk.

RECALL #22V-406 Has not been replaced the part has been failing for the last 2.5 years. The stalling situation is getting worse. It does not come to a complete stall at least not while in traffic but it will start to stall and cough and sputter while under power at residential speed of 30-35 mph, city driving of 40 -50 mph, and at highway speeds of 70-75 mph. It is increasingly getting worse. We have taken the vehicle to multiple dealers only to be told that the needed repair has still not been developed yet. (the repair is to replace the HPFP before my wife and grandkids get ran over on the highway or coming out of the local grocery stores parking lot). The problem has been identified and the repair to the problem has been realized, but the manufacturer will not commit to the repair. How many people will have to be maimed or die because of this. Yes the problem has been reproduced and the manufacturer and the dealerships are aware of it. One Service Manager reported to us that he has a new truck on their lot that can not be sold because of this very issue. there is no MIL code for the decaying of the fuel system rail. Other codes can be thrown as a result but here is no standard code for it.

I have a 2014 keep grand Cherokee. The car has made shifting noises and changed gears. The sensor goes on and then comes off.The car had suddenly lost power and then it makes a clinking sound and goes back to gear.. I was on the highway when this happened and almost got into a crash. This vehicle is not used often and well maintained.I took it to be checked from diagnostic and it read codes about a module and defective cranks. The shop informed me that many people were having the same issues and that there was a recall due to this. That the crank shift position was defective and causing transmission issues as well.He also stated that recalls for software issue that needed to be updated which many 2014 jeeps had the same issues. I called Chrysler to find out about the recalls and they stated that there were2014recalls for this but not my vin number.I informed them that I believe my car was also in need of this recall and defective parts because many of the things that were happening were the same as the recall and the model. They said they couldn-??t help me and to take it to keep to be checked. I made an appointment and told Chrysler that the problems what the shop said about recalls and it software update. They stated that this has been happening but since my vin was not recalled yet that I would have to cover whatever cost to be fixed.I paid for it to be evaluated by them and they stated it is going to cost 8000 to repair because of the shift and it has a transmission replacement. My vehicle only has 61000 miles. I feel Chrysler is deceiving customers and also selling defective cars that can be fatal. They are not taking responsibility for defectives and leaving the consumer blindsided by costs.I paid a lot of money for this vehicle when purchased 35000 and I have only used 40000 miles in six years. My family and I could of lost our lives due to defective parts in vehicle.

My JGC 2014. I was on a 5 lane interstate in the far left lane when my car started decelerating at a speed of 64mph. As I was merging into the left emergency lane it switched into neutral gear. I then proceeded to stop and put the Jeep into park and turn it off. Prior to this incident my check engine light had just illuminated a month prior and I ran a diagnostic computer test and it returned stating it was an EVAP problem. I haven-??t had any systems. So I was waiting on my first check to get it taking care of (meaning no gas smell in the cabin, no fuel leaks under vehicle, no bad gas mileage). So the police came to my rescue and helped me pull the emergency neutral pull in the middle console in order to get it off closer to the median so I wouldn-??t get hit until I could get a tow. Well it wouldn-??t turn over again. It sounded like I had a fuel pump problem but when I went to turn it on but not over I heard my fuel pump cut on. So no problems there! So my battery started running low in voltage so I charged it with a battery pack and it got around 13 v and I unplugged it. It-??s a 14 v battery. Well I got my vehicle turned in the off position the emergency neutral gear unlocked and then my windshield wipers started and the car was not on. I heard clicking in the fuse part under the hood so I found that fuse and pulled it. I think took a fuse checker and checked every fuse in my box they all had fire. On my dash it started saying system brake suspension and the check engine light was off. So I checked it with the computer diagnostic tester and it said a code of all U-??s which were the ECU and the TCM and the gear shifter which was the only P.O. code. So we took my gear shift off and cleaned it and hooked it back up. It was nasty. And it would slap again but not show on my dashboard. So I reset my battery and nothing. I am so upset about this. I-??ve worked on every vehicle I-??ve owned and this is mind boggling. Everything is up to date and seems fine

While approaching a intersection, the vehicles engine stalled. The vehicle shifted itself into neutral. The loss of power in neutral resulted in a loss of power steering and power braking. The vehicle had diminished controls in traffic with 3 occupants. (2 adults, 1 infant.) Vehicle was stopped using emergency brake in turn lane. Local police were required to use push bar to move vehicle due to blocking traffic. No warning or lights on dash prior to failure. Vehicle pushed to dealership. Dealership diagnosed part failure consistent with open recall. No solution from manufacturer.

My vehicle has 2 recalls on faulty parts that can cause catastrophic failure. There are no replacement parts or repairs available to owners of these cars. FCA US should have offered loaner vehicles to owners a long time ago. Instead, they indicate that they will give loaner cars once the Grand Cherokee breaks down or crashes as a result of the faulty parts. This is not acceptable. I now have a vehicle that I paid over $47,000 for that is useless and worthless - I cannot drive it knowing it could have an "unexpected loss of motive power" and I cannot sell it with 2 serious unrepairable recalls. FCA US needs to be forced to offer loaner vehicles or buy these Grand Cherokees back from owners at a fair price.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine Failure and Lack of Accountability by the Manufacturer Dear NHTSA, I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing situation regarding the Jeep Grand Cherokee and its e$th ongine issues. I have been experiencing an ongoing nightmare with my vehicle, which was supposed to be covered by a 100,000-mile engine warranty. However, after only 8,000 miles, the engine suffered a catastrophic failure, and Jeep has chosen not to take responsibility for the problem. It is evident that this engine has a significant factory defect, as my research has revealed numerous cases of the same issue. Many owners have faced similar engine failures, and it is disheartening to see that Jeep has not acknowledged this widespread problem. Compounding the issue is the lack of available spare parts for the necessary repairs. As a result, my vehicle has become inoperable, leaving me with a substantial financial burden and an unusable car. I am writing to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with the hope that you can investigate this matter further. The safety and well-being of consumers are at stake, and it is crucial to address this issue promptly and thoroughly to prevent further incidents and ensure accountability from the manufacturer. I kindly request that the NHTSA launches an inquiry into the Jeep Grand Cherokee's engine problems, assesses the extent of the defects, and holds Jeep accountable for their failure to address these issues appropriately. Your support in rectifying this matter would be greatly appreciated by the affected owners and the wider community. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any additional information regarding my case. I look forward to your prompt response and assistance in resolving this troubling situation. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Luis Garcia

I put on brakes, but car did not slow down...weaved thru traffic to avoid hitting anyone..could not get car to slow down and unfortunately hit a car in front of us. All persons were taken to hospital..myself, my wife and person in the other car that was impacted. All persons suffered broken bones. Both cars were totaled. Since accident have read up on this type vehicle accelerating on its own. We were lucky no one was killed. This needs to be looked into before it takes a life.

The left bank intake camshaft and roller rockers have failed. It has cause the check engine light to come on and go off reading a misfire in cylinder 2. After costly repairs to coil packs and plugs, Chrysler is now going to replace with a cost of $1,900. This is the same issue in the 2013 Jeep that Chrysler extended the warranty on and won-??t do it now on this year model.

My 2014 jeep cheroke limited stopped working without any prior warning. I was driving on the highway with my company children. I was going at a speed of 65 miles per hour, when it began to fail in a life, first I noticed the air conditioning stopped working, then I slowed down and stopped accelerating, I noticed that the speed changes suddenly began to change from Drive ( D) to neutral (N), and I got a picture on the dash saying I needed to check my transmission. So what I wanted was to get off the road because I was afraid that my three children were with me and I was afraid that something bad would happen, but the bad thing is that I couldn't stop, because there wasn't enough and safe space where I could stop the truck. and many cars came behind me. So I went about a half mile and was able to get off the road. It was when my truck stopped hard and put itself in Neutral (N) and didn't want to go any further. The air conditioning did not want to work either. When I got off and checked it, I noticed that my truck had oil in the back. So all I thought of was calling my husband and he went to the place where we were to pick us up. The weirdest thing that happened to me was that I never had any warning on the dash before until it started to go bad that day. My husband had checked the truck out because I was going out of state. He always did the corresponding checkups and oil changes because that is the truck that we used for my children and I. The next day we returned for the truck and took it in a trailer to the mechanic to find out what had happened and he said that the transmission did not work, that that happens in these 2014 trucks. My question is what can I do? I want to fix my truck because it's the one I take my kids to school in but I'm afraid it's going to break down again. I began to investigate further and saw that I am not the only one to whom this has happened. Even a co-worker of my husband's went through the same situation as me.

The outstanding recalls have not be addressed despite one of them being over a year old at this time. The V46 High Pressure Fuel Pump issue is particularly worrying as not only does this pump failure result in a dangerous situation on the road but can also cause tens of thousands of dollars in engine damage as a result. The recall was issued more than one year ago and no remedy yet exists. This is not acceptable timeline. FCA & Stellantis need to either find a remedy of purchase these vehicles back at a fair price immediately as many of us are afraid to drive them with our families.

The oil cooler is made from an inferior material resulting in warpage and leakage. That leakage happens prematurely and poses a fire risk from oil leaking from the top side of the engine onto the components below, including but not limited to the exhaust manifold. The component is currently being replaced by the dealer due to catastrophic failure, resulting in oil and coolant mixing. I have found multiple forums that discuss this topic and have not been as lucky as I to have found it early. There were no warnings, no discernable puddle of oil under the vehicle, just an oil trail down the rear of the engine that is not immediately discoverable. The dealer knew to look for this as it is a common failure that could have larger consequences and Jeep should be held responsible for the inferior material selection that warps due to the higher temperatures an engine faces.

My cam failed after lifter got stuck at 65k miles, dealership repairs went bad after the first repair attempt they covered. I drove the jeep 19 miles after I bought it.. Then the low oil pressure light came on as the engine locked up. Was at dealer 6 weeks but it was not repaired correctly before i picked it up. On the way home from dealer oil pressure light came on half a sec before the engine seized up. I had to walk 5 miles and get a row truck from my work. 14 days to repair it after I purchased a new mopar long block. Dealer installed in 2 days. Cam lobs where gone and oil was almost magnetic due to camshaft lifter contact. I live in Michigan and i was half tempted to drive to fca in auburn hills just to show them 4 identical camshaft lifter failures I have seen in 3 years from friends and customers. I will probably have to file a lawsuit to recoup some if not all of the last repair cost. Old engine was dealership served at 3 to 4k miles religiously and it still failed. My jeep is ok now after paying for new engine before i even drove it home once. 2 months and $38k plus a few thousand in repairs all due to a shady dealership named Feldman automotive group.I don't think this is morally correct on any level. Makes me sick to pay 40k for the 2014 jeep grand cherokee srt used with low miles and tons more in repairs the first 29 miles. 2 months of hell. plus it ruined my financial stability. Why doesn't the dealership warranty a repair they did before a sale if it fails the same day. Something need to rectify my financial loss before I snap thinking about it 24-7. Feldman automotive group should of covered second repair attempt as first was unsuccessful.
