"Service Shifter Soon" message appeared on the center of the instrument panel, flashing in Red Letters.

Called the dealer. They said the shifter would have to be replaced. Estimated cost was 7500.00.

Did some research and found this to be a common, problem. For which, there is still no factory recall????

I had only had The Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit, less than 1 year. No computer error codes. Just the Red, flashing warning, on the center instrument panel. This is a "Really Awful Problem". No one was injured.

But it definitely, could have turned into a disaster. There was no way to predict, whether the Jeep would just drive away by itself, or go into reverse and run over whom ever was in its path. "Jeep" should be much more responsible, when it is a safety issue. That easily could cause loss of life!!!!

I took a $9000.00 loss; and sold the Jeep/Junk immediately. I believe that the safety of others is more important than any amount of money. Maybe, Jeep should too. If they want to make it right, they should send me, and others a check, for any losses that occurred; and immediately recall the faulty/dangerous vehicles.

I am sure this issue will continue to be ignored by JEEP.

Jeep has already acknowledged, that their electronic shifter. On the 2014/2015 Grand Cherokee is faulty.

They have updated software. After there was loss of life. Now there is another deadly problem, that Jeep is not addressing.

Are they waiting for another loss of life, before they take action?

LA police told CBS News the county coroner's office "concluded that Yelchin's death was an accident" caused by "blunt traumatic asphyxia"."

Police also told the broadcaster the vehicle involved was a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

So why? Are they not issuing an immediate recall for the "Service Shifter Soon" instrument panel warning?
