service shifter warning service shifter warning

Driving home and the service shifter light came on and all the shifter lights came on. Pulled over to shut off and the lights went off. When I picked up to speed of 10 miles lights came back. No other problems detected at the time (no jerking, no lag in engine, no change in speed or cars performance). There was no problem noted prior to lights coming on. They come on and off the last three days. The check engine light has now come on but will go off to. Today the car didn’t want to start and turned over so it’s not the battery.

Grand Cherokee High Altitude V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,500 miles

Warning came up on driver dash "Service Shifter." I took to dealership for service, especially reading about the various transmission issues other GC owners were having. Dealer stated "Unable to replicate issue" and that vehicle is fine. I've owned the vehicle for 6 months, and under 10K miles. It has been to the dealership twice for various issues, including 3 warning messages. Clearly I should just assume an error message is going to pop up every 2 months, and to ignore because the dealership will just say "Unable to replicate" and that the vehicle has no issues.
