The contact owned a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 23V413000 (SUSPENSION) and 24V132000 (SUSPENSION, STEERING). The contact's wife stated that while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle wobbled, and an abnormal sound was coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact's wife was able to pull to the side of the road. It is unknown if any warning lights were illuminated. After a visual inspection, the contact's wife became aware that the control arm had detached, and the coil spring was on the ground. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was confirmed that the control arm and coil spring had detached from the vehicle. However, the dealer refused to perform the recall repairs, stating that since the contact's wife had struck an unknown object on the road, the recalls were voided. The contact stated that his wife had not struck an object while driving. The vehicle was taken to Jim Glover Dodge Chrysler, who refused to perform the recall repairs, that the vehicle had collided with an unknown object on the road and voided the recall repairs. The insurance company was notified and towed the vehicle to an auto body shop. The vehicle remained at the body shop unrepaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 72,000.

Jeep Owner's manual explains how to setup the vehicle for flat towing behind an RV. Following those instructions, the vehicle does not track well. I've experienced this going through turns. Others report what they call a 'death wobble' while traveling at highway speeds. That's what worries me. I don't want to lose control at highway speed. Jeep dealers just repeat the manual's instructions, but it doesn't solve anything.
