I went to Napletons dealer for my oil change as I always do. They came out and told me the rear brakes where worn out. I said how could that be. The rear should last 3 times the front. It only has 12000 miles. He said the front are fine. There was nothing he could do except charge me. I paid and called the headquarters and said there is a MFG flaw in the brakes. I see vans of the same year have the same problem. She said they had few complaints about brakes wearing out in short periods of time but did agree to refund my money. They had no answer if they wore out again. I feel like my jeep is unsafe to drive with a unresolved problem. I called a brake shop and they told me the Jeep and vans of 2009 and 2010 have a unresolved problem with premature wear-out of front or rear brakes. He told me next time put crossed drilled rotors on the rear as that solved the problem for others. The MFG said they never heard of those rotors but I know they use them on police cars and race cars so I got me a pair for the next time. I was told the weight is too much for the new designed jeep and the rotors cannot take the heat and get out of shape and wear down the pads. I see on the net there are numerous lawsuits against Chrysler for this problem. It is a real safety concern and they seem not to care and I feel lucky they gave me a refund on the brake job. I would never buy another one and this Jeep has been in the shop too many times for a new one. If you plan on buying a jeep you better look into the brake problems they have and buy another type......
