While driving to work the instrument cluster started dinging (audible alarm). It's back light started flickering bright/dim, not on/off, and the headlights did the same thing in sync with the cluster back light flickering. The ABS, BRAKE, and TRACTION CONTROL indicators blinked in sync with the audible alarm. The speedometer was erratic however, the tachometer worked normally. Finally, the engine seems to lose power when all this is happening i.e. the engine is not as responsive when I press the accelerator.
