I see where recall on right hand side drive, same part on left hand side and more of them than right side steering. I went to dealer, oh yes, we have seen hundreds with this problem. Told me it would cost $720. They also said my air bag was disabled because of this. I will never buy another jeep if this is not fixed. If I have a wreck and airbags don't work. Expect to pay.

Update from Jan 24, 2016: Now I see another death, went back to dealer, they tried to use a scare tactic, took me to body shop, said this had the same problem. Guy survived, but was hurt pretty bad. What is it going to take to get all airbags that this business made replaced so people will be safe. ? Investigate, you already know. Safety, not in this case.

After two trips to my local dealer trying to find out what was causing the air bag light to start coming on and off at random, I got on-line to this site and found that others are having the same issue and what the actual problem is. It really makes me mad that the dealer probably knew what the underlying cause was and played dumb so I would bring my Jeep in to his service department for a problem that the manufacturer knows about and won't fix. As annoying as the light and buzzer are, it will be a cold day in h--- before I go to a dealer for a manufacturer problem and pay for their faulty equipment.

The worst part of this whole mess is the timing/ just two days before the light began to malfunction I had decided to sell my Jeep-- now who would want to pay good money for a vehicle with malfunction lights coming on, no matter how insignificant it might appear to be????

Had my 2010 Jeep since February of this year, went to Dallas Texas to get it, I knew I had to have it when I saw it. It only had 49000 miles on, a girl had traded it in on a Mercedes Benz. Been saving my money up to put a 4 inch lift suspension lift on my Jeep ever since. I have put a lot of extras on it, it was like my baby but after this day I am ready to throw in the towel.

I took the kids to daycare this morning and and when leaving the airbag warning light comes on along with this chiming of annoying beeps. I took it to Meineke, that where I get my Outland tires rotated and they hooked up and ran a diagnostics test which was 75 bucks out of the gate to tell me that I had a bad clockspring in behind my airbag. My Jeep only has 53615 miles on it, I spent all morning on the phone with Jeep and Chrysler Corp, really, this is my fault? The Jeep has never been wrecked, I treat it like it was my baby.

I took it to the dealer here In town. They wanted to hook it to their computer and charge me another 100 bucks. I said no way, here is what Meineke did, they said they had to do their own, of course they wanted that 100 bucks. I am outraged by this, I am considering selling it and going back to a truck, this is ridiculous, they wanted over 500 bucks to fix it. There went my lift kit and this is my fault, no way.

If Jeep can't stand behind their products then I think they need to declare bankrupt again and quit making crap cause that is what this is. The dealer told me the same thing, so sorry, nothing we can do. Really, I can't believe this. I am outraged, anyone else? Please help!!!!!
