I stopped at light. With my foot on brake, the engine began to race and pull vehicle forward. I had to throw it into park to stop it. This is the 3rd time it happened.

sudden, unintended acceleration

Turned on the ignition, was verified by the event data recorder that my feet were on the brake and clutch at the time. When the Jeep started, RPMS were past the redline on the tachometer and the jeep launched full throttle over another jeep after crushing a young woman (she did not survive). Chrysler would not even look at the Jeep, even when I told them I would pay for the diagnostic when I had it towed there with a no start issue. Could not drive the jeep any longer due to personal issues, traded it in after replacing a TON of parts including the clutch slave and master cylinder, as well as the powertrain control module. Chrysler agreed to allow the jeep into a shop after many calls to get the PCM programmed to the V.I.N. but I was responsible for repair costs on the 1 year old jeep. The accident was bad enough.....I did not need that kind of treatment from Chrysler...having their product take on a "mind of its own" and end the life of a youth despite my efforts to prevent the tragedy.. and then being refused service by Chrysler Canada...that's just inhumane and heartless. The truck I traded the jeep in for had to be voluntarily surrendered for repossession as I could no longer afford it.....I loved my jeep, but what it did was beyond failure, and Chrysler does not want any blame for the mechanical "phenomenon" that caused it to do what it did that day, so until they become responsible and start acting like responsible adults...I will stay as far away from Jeep wranglers with the pentastar as I possibly can.
