Bought used and was never given fobs. Just the one regular key(?). Replaced clutch at 50k therefore planned on keeping it as long as possible .IT WAS NOT ME RIDING THE CLUTCH! About new clutch time, almost paid off...75k miles. The starter/battery issues began. Dash lights would come on but nothing. Every couple of months, with little predictability, won't start when you want; come back in an hour. A week. Whose to say?

Replaced a battery that wasn't that old. Then a starter when the battery didn't fix the problem. That did not fix the problem either. Tow it to a shop. Won't recreate. Sigh. the stress of never knowing if your car will start is pretty substantial when you've spent 600+ to fix it. Not to mention the new transmission that ill never get the money out of.

I'd wager it's an electrical issue. From the innerwebs, my guess is it's the Folding Key Immobilizer Antenna Coil? But that doesn't exist on the 2013 Soul. The 2013 Sportage's part # is 954013W010. Or a clutch starter safety switch? 25486TD?

My floor mats are not impeding pedal depression. There is no clicking noise when trying to start. All the dash lights come on and radio etc. My battery terminals aren't dirty. At this point, it's a vision quest. I'm fixing this thing. Well with some inputs hopefully. Thanks!!!
