The contact owns a 2014 Kia Soul. While driving and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate and remained in second gear. Also, the oil warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to benson Kia of spartanburg (located at 1100 N pine St, spartanburg, nc 29303, (864) 585-3611) where it was diagnosed that an unknown computer code needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed to depress the accelerator pedal to manuever the gear shifter out of gear. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
I was driving down the road doing about 45 miles per hour and out of nowhere my vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. I had to act fast and get off the road so I wouldn't get hit by the oncoming traffic. I had the vehicle towed and come to find out my 2.0 engine had seized. The tow truck driver from Kia international roadside stated that they have been towing Kia Souls all month for bad engine problems. I have 65000 miles on my vehicle. My next oil change wasn't until another 1000 miles. No low oil pressure light came on not even the engine light, it just shut off out of nowhere. All the oil was sucked out of the engine, on top of that I have to pay $8,000 to get a new engine. A recall need to be put up about no warning lights on the dashboard.
Whether the vehicle is stationary, in motion, on a city street or a highway, the right headlight will flicker and then go out. No matter what I've done on my end, nothing has solved the issue, racking up unnecessary costs. Once in a while the headlight will stay on longer than expected but suddenly turns off, making it very dangerous while driving on pitch black roads.
I was driving along the highway when I heard a clicking noise. After the noise, my car started to lose acceleration. No matter how hard I pressed the pedal, it just wouldn't go above 5mph and began making a loud noise. Had it checked out and it was determined to be the catalytic converter.
For the past three months I've been having issues with the headlights and bright lights on my 2014 Kia Soul. I have been experiencing the lights flickering and sporadically turning on and off until recently where they will not come on at all. I have been researching how I can fix this issue by going to Kia dealerships, and looking online for a solution. I have come across several youtube videos as well as online help suggesting that it is a known issue with this car. It is said to be an issue with the switch and/or the connector that causes the problem. I've changed the bulb as well as the fuse with the same issue. I'm getting tickets due to this being an issue that is not an easy fix. It's scary to drive distances with children in the vehicle and not knowing if the lights will turn on or off.

Just finished gassing up after work from highway driving and oil light starts flicking on and off really fast for a min then goes away. After I pull off the main road to a neighborhood I'm about to pull over to check car and go over a speed bump car dies. So I get out pop hood open oil cap there no oil and fumes coming out and I really didnt get a warning light or anything to warn me there wasnt any oil other then the flickering light that just went off. It has 100000 miles got oil changed every 4000 to 5000 it last had one at 96000. So I have someone pick me up I get oil put I. it doesnt start I leave over night find out cpu has a sensor to protect engine from further damage if it gets hot so I disconnect battery and reconnect it starts but now theres a knocking sound I take it 2 min away to Firestone they listen to it and say the problem is a internal motor problem they cant fix sounds like a rod broke.or loose. So I have towed to dealer for now. I just saw the news about them catching fire and basically put 2 and 2 together. The cars are eating too much oil due to a regulator sensor and the oil sensor is not letting people now there isn't any or that its low til it's too late so the rods break and puncture the motor causing oil to leak and catch fire due to heat. So now I have a car that's undrivable that I have to pay possibly for a new engine due to a faulty distribution sensor and oil light warning system that causes overheating of the motor. I hope my recall notice comes soon to replace this motor cause I don't have 4 000 to 6000 dollars to replace a new one.
While driving on the highway, the dash board started turn off and on the car began to lose power. I pulled off to the side and the lights on the dash came on and the car shut down completely.within a few minutes smoke started coming from the hood of the car followed by a small fire. I got out of the car and the fire grew and completly burned the car.
2014 Kia Soul + (just got - one month - 1st time happening) : in my driveway: Not starting: I put the key in the ignition and turned it - the lights/ dashboard lit/ and radio played, but engine would not start - I turned off the radio and turned off the car: I tried X3 times (radio off) - same results: Then I took the key out the ignition / put foot on brake / put key in ignition and turned - dashboard lit up / heard the click / engine did not start / put car in drive - turned again / still nothing: Put car in park / took key out ignition - took key out - put key back in ignition and turned / dashboard lit / heard click / no engine start: Saw on youtube several videos with same issue.
Driver side headlight went out. Replaced bulb back on and then right back off. Further looking and the adapter plug that snaps into the back of the light is burnt!
On December 9th, 2018 at approximately 6:10am, while driving to work on the highway, my car suddenly broke down and began to smoke. I pulled over to the side of the road and removed my important belongings. Within minutes my car was on fire. I notified city police, fire department, and insurance company. My car was ultimately destroyed and taken to a junk yard.
11-6-18 - while in motion, mid turn, my car shut down completely. All the lights came on in the dash, and then when car shut down, battery died as well and window was stuck down. I am so thankful I was not on the interstate going 70 miles an hour. I could have been killed. Dealership has said motor is locked up and cannot even be manually started & that I need a whole new engine.
I had to get new headlights at the dealership. It is now getting ridiculous. One head light will not work. It will come on when it feels like coming on. Sometimes it comes on.sometimes it will come on right away others times it will flicker on off and not work at all. It is dangerous because I drive home in the dark and I dnt want to get filled over. I also drive in dark roads and it makes it hard to see when only one headlight works. I am now noticing that is the working in the car not my headlights.
When headlamps are in automatic mode, they will sometimes flicker on/off, or turn off completely until headlamp controls are manipulated (by turning headlamp power switch dial back and forth or by pulling/pushing low/high beam control). This is exacerbated by driving on an unstable road (I.e. a road with potholes or bumps), when actuating signal light controls, and when stopping. This happens mostly when the vehicle is going at speeds over 40 mph, but has happened in city streets at velocities as low as 5 mph. This has happened several times over the course of the last months, beginning around August 2018.

Headlights keep randomly flickering off and on while driving. Started out just when I had my lights on auto and had the turn signals on. Last night they went out on their own while I was driving down a dark road for several seconds. This is very dangerous and seems to be a common problem.
Headlights flicker on and off when I first turn on the headlights. There is no rhyme or reason to when it happens. It is usually fast on/off flickering. This is very dangerous and happens without warning. Most times the car is in park but I am concerned that this will become worse.
Dash lights flicker on and off. Headlights flicker and shut off. Has happened while driving at night with kids had to stop middle of road. Weird noise (electric buzz) sounds like in speakers. While driving backroads. Has happened numerous times.
While driving the car the headlights flicker and sometimes go off randomly. This has now begun to occur while the car is also parked. This is highly dangerous while traveling at night and a huge safety risk.

When I drive my Soul in the dark with my headlights on they start flickering and then they just go completely out. Sometimes it's small flickering and sometimes it is completely out and dont come back on for several seconds. Today I had to turn them off and back on twice before they would come back on at all. This is extremely dangerous when it is dark. Especially driving on a curvy 2 lane highway in the dark like I do. At first it happened when I used my turn signal, but now I dont have to do anything and they flicker and then go on and off.
