Second time this car has stalled on me without any warning. First time was last year on the freeway because of the catalytic converter and second time on the road. Unfortunately the engine also died on me the second time it stalled. I’ve always taken it to get oil changes regularly but it burns through it too fast. I also have to be adding more oil and constantly checking it. I don’t even want to get it fixed because I’m too scared to drive it.

I purchased my 2016 Kia Soul plus brand new from the dealership. I enjoyed driving the car until the engine lost power & overheated along a rural mountain road, leaving me stranded. I had the car towed to a shop and called Kia, but they were no help. All they could tell me was that there was a recall, and if the sensor wasn't replaced, that they would not cover my engine. My local shop says the car needs a new engine, because it was damaged.

So far Kia has refused to accept responsibility for the fact that they did not notify me of the recall and that this could have been prevented. Kia has left me stranded without transportation and I have spent several thousand dollars for both rental and towing costs. Kia's customer service has been horrible to say the least. They need to do a better job of looking after their customers.

Just had a scary moment today. Had to have car towed home. While driving down busy road the car just shut down leaving us stranded. The engine would not restart. When we got home ran codes on car. It had code P0340. We replaced the sensor. Car still would not start. We found another code as well P0014 and P0011.

Did some checking on the internet. Well we are not the only ones on this issue. Tried the sensors and nothing. I will get into this more tomorrow. Called the dealer and did not get anywhere. They just say probably needs a new engine. How can you say that and not even look at the car. It did not show any issue before just loosing power and shutting down.
