Car is less than 10 years old and less than 87,000 miles on it at the time it 1st started. Both catalytic converters went out within a month of each other. Took it to the dealership where they charged almost $300 to diagnose it. Both cats went out. Kia refuses to fix it unless I pay $2800. Several mechanics I spoke with all said the same thing. Those catalytic converters should not have gone out.
Contacted Kia customer support complaint they responded by saying that it's my responsibility to pay for it. Replied for a reconsideration. Never heard back. So now I'm stuck with a car payment on a car that I can't drive because I can't afford to get the car fixed.
Update from Sep 26, 2023: Because of the cats going out my engine is shot. Can't drive it. Can't get rid of it. Can't afford another engine.
Update from Sep 26, 2023: Engine is gone. Can't drive it, can't get rid of it, can't afford an engine.
