My 2009 Kia Sportage has been in and out of the shop constantly. When in Idle, it will sometimes rev up to 3000 RPM for several seconds to a minute until I put it in first gear and ease up on the clutch. Other times, the car will seem to lose power and only be able to drive at 30km/h. Other times, it would shut off after losing power. The following repairs have been done to fix whatever codes showed up:
Fuel Pump replaced
Codes: P0452, P0453 and replaced Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor and Regulator
Code: P0449 and replaced Canister Close Valve
Code: C1513 and replaced Brake Switch
Replaced Reverse Switch due to light flickering
The issues still happen intermittently and I can't put the finger on what it might be since it happens whether it's cold or hot, 87 octane or 94 octane gasoline, fresh oil change, new cabin air filter.
When it won't start, locking and unlocking the vehicle with my lock remote will let me start my vehicle more often than not. But I have a feeling that it's a coincidence
