The contact owns a 2011 Kia Sportage. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact discovered oil leaking under the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to american Eagle auto (820 us highway 1 N, woodbridge, NJ) where it was diagnosed that the engine oil pan was faulty and needed to be replaced. The oil pan was replaced, but the failure recurred approximately three months later. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 100,000. The VIN was unknown.

Kia currently has a recall (SC147) on 2011 Kia Sportages where the oil pan gasket leaks and can cause an engine fire. My vehicle was diagnosed with the same issue as the recall however my VIN doesn't appear on the recall list. I will attach the repair quote issued by my local dealer. I contacted Kia in good faith to have them reimburse me for said repairs but they are refusing. Their recall is not complete and my vehicle only has 76,000 miles on it. I am currently driving the car but if Kia has admitted there is a fire issue with the car, shouldn't they fix it?

While driving at 40 mph my car just shut off. I had it towed to my mechanic and it was diagnosed as a seized engine. I had no indications of any issues prior to this happening. I still owe money on this vehicle and Kia wont do anything about it because it is not part of the engine recall.

As time wait on engine deteriorated the car would stop and not move, even while driving. Break lights go out every 3 months got a ticket because of it. Then radio burnt out, after those issue. I got the car brand new, all ways got oil changes as well as the tune ups. Took issue to Kia and they kept saying everything was fine. After they worked on issues the bill was over 1000. After all the work done there is still problems with the car. See on credit karma my car has 5 recalls. I need a letter stating the recalls on my vehicle, because Kia has not helped with the problems on the car and I can't afford getting more work done on the car. After showing them this app they still won't work on it with out a letter. Really need help thanks you.

So I had pretty much a full day of driving and my manual transmission 6 speed 2011 Sportage, that until today the only problem I noticed was that sometimes to me it felt like when I up shifted or began to go into first that it wasn't going all the way into gear; and at times on the highway it wasnt accelerating normally and my gas mileage is about 50M less per tank than it has been the past 5 mo.(financed to buy as of March). According to the dealership only 1 previous owner and I'm not sure what work had been on it prior to the dealership we are buying through. So today car use in town running completely normal since 11am then suddenly around 6:30 started making all kinds of noise to me a knocking sound plus an almost like revving sound mixed in. We came straight to a gas station and checked the oil with yellow dipstick, as we are almost due for a change, added about a half a quart and started it again to run the oil thru and same sounds but louder. We then turned it back off called a mechanic friend and he came and said without taking anything apart he felt it could B a rod. I then called my mom to come pick up my 3 young kids with me to take them to her house out of the tx heat while we attempt driving home. Started it up again around 8:30 to head the half mile home and very faintly could hear still a knocking and accelerated slowly. Im mot a car genius or anything but not knowing the vehicles personal history prior to March of this year I am worried to drive on highway the 40-50 mile distance to get to the nearest Kia workshop. I absolutely loved my soccer mom car until today and now im afrraid to drive it after reading the recalls. Is my vehicle a part of any recall" my clutch it new and my fuel pump as well according to the dealership we are buying through so I know it isnt that. Just want to feel safe and have my commute back to normal again...what's going on?"

The contact owns a 2011 Kia Sportage. While the contact was pulling into the driveway, the vehicle would not shift into park. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to Kia of bedford (18180 rockside rd, bedford, oh 44146, (440) 735-400) where it was diagnosed that the battery was defective. The contact was informed that they repaired the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that it needed a new engine and transmission. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 19V101000 (engine); however, the dealer never informed the contact of the recall and stated that she would be financially responsible for all repairs on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 86,000.

On June 18th car was making ticking noise. Checked oil, oil full. No dash warning indicators on. Drove to work and on drive home from work vehicle began making noise, engine began making noise, sounding like bolts tumbling in a dryer. Maximum speed home 25mph. Local mechanic looked at vehicle and said without tearing motor apart he believed the bearing was gone. Contacted dealership where purchased and was told to bring it there to be diagnosed. On July 10th their diagnosis was 0 psi on all four cylinders. Requires replacing the engine. Repair quote given was: Short block plus parts was $10,584.42 or used long block $6,558.24. On 18th received important safety recall #19V101. Dealership responded by telling me that recall was not the problem. Purchased extended warranty agreement on date of purchase 10-10-2017. Warranty was for 120 months or 125,000 miles. Car has 125,235 miles currently on it.

Son's 2011 Kia Sportage LX, with 155,000 miles, would stall when coming to a stop, or idling. Car would intermittently restart. Car engine sounds awful, like particles grinding. Engine light was not on. Local mechanic said when they were working on it, the engine light came on, and the diagnosis reported mass air flow sensor issue. Upon further diagnosis, mechanic concluded new engine needed. We are sending the car to the Kia dealership, for further evaluation. NHTSA campaign number: 17V224000. Why wasn't our car's VIN included in this recall, which is "bearing wear may result in engine seizure"" is this why our engine needs to be replaced???? who do I contact for help"

One day my ex wife drove what is now my 2011 Kia Sportage home, which she said ran fine up until that point. The next day she went out to start it and from the sound it was making the bottom half of the engine was turning and the top half was not, which we have verified that slack appears to be present in the timing chain upon taking the valve cover off to inspect. I am seeing hints of engine recalls on this year Kia on this website and am worried that my car may be one of an unidentified batch of cars that have had that problem, which if I continue to fix the timing chain on my car would likely repeat the problem in the near future as if this is true the underling problem would not have been fixed. This car has been parked for over two years as I have not been able to get this repair completed yet.

During a return trip I suddenly hear a clicking noise coming from the engine bay area so I pulled over and parked the car for a quick check and while the noise persisted I needed to find a safer location so I drove off and eventually found a safer place to park but the noise was even louder as tho a rod was thrown and by the time I found this parking spot the car had lost all power. This happened so suddenly and without warning as a few hours prior there was no indication of any engine problems.

Kia has recalled some of the 2011-2012 Kia Sportage line due to an oil pan leakage issue. My 2011 Kia Sportage suffers from an oil pan leak, as reported to me by my oil change shop, but was not included in the recall when I view the VIN report.

Has happened several times. Will be driving and the engine doesn't pull like normal just happens whenever no warning. Driving interstate or county roads speeds typically between 50-70mph. The RPM goes down to 0 and engine won't race if you give it gas. If I'm at a red light it will noticeably sputter. I usually have to find a safe place to pull off the road turn the car off and back on. This has been a quick fix. I want to know if there's a recall but I have not received anything in the mail.

I've been experiencing issues with my engine for over 5 years on my 2011 Kia Sportage that are same issues described for the SC147 recall with the bearing wear issue. It's extremely unsettling to drive on the highway as this is only when the problem occurs at a higher speed (anything over 60 mph). I will be driving at speed and the engine for a split second with stall out and shoot right back to the high speed. The car jolts and the engine light will flicker. If you continue to drive the problem increases and happens more along the route unless you drop down to 50. However after you continue to drive the car will begin to shake and if you slow down it idle's very loud and as if to stall and the engine light will come on and remain on. Once the car is shut off and allowed to sit all problems go away until the next time. For 5+ years I have complained of this issue with the dealership and never have they found a problem. My VIN is not listed on this recall but can it be the same problem?

I'm experiencing the same bearing wear issue that the engine recall is for but my VIN is not listed within the recall. I will be driving at speed and without warning the engine will stall out for maybe 1 to 2 seconds and then pick back up at the speed I was travelling at. In certain instances when this happens the check engine light will come on and the car will idle extremely rough until the engine is shutoff and allowed to sit for a few minutes before being restarted. I feel this is the exact complaint that the recall was issued for but my car is not listed in the recall. I feel the recall is very limited in it's scope and the recall should be extended to further VIN numbers.

I originally brought my vehicle in for service for a noise coming from the timing chain area which sounds like slack in the chain at 1100 rpms and the worst being with the engine cold. I have had the timing chain and guides, a few sensors, and camshaft phaser replaced chasing this noise and a few thousand dollars in; my mechanic now hears a noise coming from the engine in the lower part of my third cylinder. He believes it should be part of the 17V224000 campaign but my VIN does not show up on the recall. My mechanic does a lot of over flow work for our local Kia dealership and I tend to believe him.
