Because we live in a rural area it isn't unusual for rodents to try and nest in our vehicles. However, we take precautions and clean the vehicles and use rodent deterrents. It struck me odd that so much damage ($4500) could occur in such a short period of time and totally disable the car. The dealership refused warranty coverage. We have a high auto insurance deductible so it was costly to us. Also, it took the dealership 20 days to fix the car. I just googled "rodents in Kia vehicles" and read that Kia uses soy based products in their wiring systems. That's like "come to dinner, critters". Kia knows about this problem and, duh, so does my Kia dealership but of course didn't mention that to me. Now I will address the repair that they did to see if they replaced the engine harness with more soy based products. I'm also mad at my insurance company for paying for the damages when I'm sure they have had to fork out money to other Kia owners for the same problem.
