We bought the car Memorial Day from a local dealership. There were some scratches on the car that the dealership said they would fix but they didn't. That being said, we took it to another dealership to fix these subsequent problems. Starting July 3rd we came out and the car was dead! We had to jump start it and we took it to the dealership we trust to look at it. They couldn't find a problem after testing battery, starter, and alternator. We took it home. 2 days later it was dead again. We took it back to the dealership and they kept it a week, working with Kia Corporate and ended up replacing the battery. We picked it up again.
The same night we got it home I noticed a flickering light coming from the car. Went outside and the interior lights by the rear view mirror were flickering every so often even though the car was off. Also, the center dash console was flicking on and off. Then about 30 minutes later, the car alarm went off. Over and over again. Even with the doors unlocked. We ended up taking the battery cable off so we could sleep. When I put the battery cable back on the next day the alarm continued to go off. I took it to the dealership for the 3rd time. Off course the alarm didn't go off when I got there.
They have had the car for 4 days now and say they can not replicate the problem! It's been very time consuming and worrisome that we are continuing to have this problem and they can't find a source for it. So far the dealership has been great, and I understand that electrical problems can be very hard to diagnose. BUT, it's very disappointing as I love driving the car and want this to be put behind us.
