When dealing with a misfiring or bad ignition coil, the repair shops will tell you that its best practice to replace all but the truth is, they will only replace the one that has gone bad and wait for you to request a future repair if need be.

In the past 3 years, I have replaced only two at a cost of $50 each. The best approach is to use an OBD code reader to identify the bad coil. High quality replacement coils can be found at AutoZone and all you need is a few minor tools.

My check engine light came on. I took it to a shop and they told me it was a 4th cylinder misfire. I replaced both the spark plug and the coil but I can still feel the misfire when I'm driving. Looking into getting the rest of the plugs replaced

THE LINCOLN DEALER TOLD ME THEY WOULD ONLY CHANGE OUT 1 COIL AT A TIME AS THEY GO BAD. SO I FOUND A SHOP THAT WOULD DO THEM ALL AND THEY SAID THAT IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE DONE. THE DEALERSHIP JUST TRYING TO MAKE 259.00 OFF EACH ONE THAT IS ALOT.
