2019 Lincoln MKC - 79,820 miles - catastrophic engine failure due to coolant intrusion. Dealership says engine must be replaced at a cost exceeding $16,000. Ford / Lincoln has documented this coolant - intrusion problem in its technical service bulletins, yet owners are being left with enormous repair bills.
Has anyone else had this issue and did Ford pay anything towards your repairs?
Coolant leaking in engine block calling for a new engine.
I HAD A 3 YR LEASE ON THE CAR AND BOUGHT IT AT END OF LEASE ON 06/27/2022.
STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR SOMETIME IN JANUARY 2025 WHEN THE ENGINE WENT ON. TOOK IT TO A PARTS STORE WHERE THEY TESTED IT AND SAID THAT A IGNITION COIL WAS BAD.
HAD IT REPLACED BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT GO OFF. TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND SAID I NEED A NEW ENGINE. MY CAR ONLY HAS 27,500 ON IT AND SHOULD NOT NEED A NEW ENGINE WITHOUT A RECALL. OTHER MKC'S HAVE BEEN RECALLED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
MY VIN NO. = 5LMCJ1C91KUL09989
THANKS
