MKS AWD 3.7L

2015 Lincoln MKS AWD started smelling inside the cabin of a gas or fluid leak. It made everyone sick or tired. Took it in to Ford the first time. No sensors went off so they said maybe you had bad gas in the fuel tank. The smell got worse and worse to the point I could clear a parking lot of the smell from the outside hood of the car and the inside was bad. If I kept the windows rolled down or recirculated the air in cabin after airing out car I was able to get it back to Ford.

Two days later they found the power transfer case or (pto because its AWD) to be leaking badly at 23,000 miles. Of course the warranty was expired. Ford and Lincoln refused to help saying there were no promotions or rewards or financial help even though the part failed at 23,000 miles. Ask the service center for some help. Nothing. Something needs to be done about this because there is no drain plug to maintain this unit even though it's a unit that is supposed to be maintenance free.

How can a major part fail at such low mileage? The car is in excellent condition otherwise. I spent the money to fix it, but how long before this happens again. There needs to be a change in this part structure and a recall.
