My 2011 Lincoln MKX locking system does not respond to key fob, nor the 'unlock' door switches. To unlock driver door the valet key must be used, also, the car thinks it's armed each time a door is opened; hence, setting off alarm, EVERYTIME! Creating unhappy neighbors as well. To unlock other doors the lock sticking up out of door frame has to be physically pulled up, and since I'm not as nimble/agile at 49 as I was at 29 I have to roll down back windows from driver seat controls, get out of car, walk around car, pull up on lock, open door. It's a $50K luxury vehicle, not a 1972 Dodge Dart. Yes, this is a first world problem, but it's still a problem in my world. My warranty expires at 50K miles, there are 45K miles on the car to date, you can imagine my angst. I have filed a complaint with Ford Motor Company and have a case number. This morning the car would not start. The dashboard read 'no key detected', the key fob was in my hand as I was in the driver seat. This has happened twice before. The car started with the remote function, but wouldn't turn over completely as I depressed the brake/pushed start. Hence, my teenagers were late for school this morning (we do not have busing). I'm "Going to the Mattresses" with FMC is what I told my FMC customer service rep., Andre. I'm told that a Locking Module should fix the problem, but it's on back order for up to 2 more months. I live in Ohio, it's mid-Sept.
