Went to the dealer and explained that people usually don't know if their taillights are working and I wasn't sure how long the problem had existed. Service man said he had never heard of this problem. They refused to cover any portion and told me it would cost $1200 to replace both. I told him that was crazy money and I would find used ones on Ebay. He then said I would probably have the same problem with used ones. Why would that be if there was no problem that he knew of. I have since heard of this problem occurring with other 2010-2012 MKZ's. Also the used ones are acting up as well.
