Very annoying! I haven't even had the car for a year and I am already having issues with the steering wheel lock. Went to get gas before the snow hit and ended up stranded at the gas station in freezing, snowy, sh*tty conditions waiting for a tow truck. This happened once before and I called the dealership (McGavock Nissan, Wichita) to see if this was a common issue or if it was just the cold causing my car to not start. Their first solution was to have it towed and their second was for me to google it. They are worthless. Anyway, now I won't have a car for over a week and I have to pay $700 plus for the fix. Nissan needs to take care of this!

On Sunday morning ( 7:45AM) had to move vehicle in order to allow access to my driveway. Sunday afternoon (12:50PM) I had to run some errands and car didn't start. The "push button start" didn't light up nor did it leave the LOCK position. The key icon on the dash panel was lit for an unusual amount of time. Immediately replaced the battery in the key FOB and the same problem was apparent after several attempts.

Monday morning had the car towed to Nissan dealer and it was determined that the "Steering Lock Controller Unit' needed replacing. Total cost for parts & labor was $1150.00 not including the cost for a rental and the loss of a half day of work. After it was all said & done I found out how common this problem is for the 370z models. Nissan had enough negative feedback to respond in an appropriate manner and yet they did NOTHING. My Nissan loyalty is history. I'll never purchase nor recommend this make to anyone. Shame on Nissan. As a consumer they need me a lot more than I need them.
