Went to my local garage to get my tires balanced. Mechanic reported that 1 of the 4 tires (all bought together) was beginning to come apart internally / belt separation. The tires were installed during October of 2019. They have less than 8000 miles on the tires. Vendor is reimbursing me for the one tire that was found to have the defect. Thankfully this was caught early, but am very concerned as the other 3 tires have the same dot number.
The contact owns a 2000 Nissan Frontier equipped with Firestone primewell tires, size: 215/65/R15. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact felt a vibration in the tires. The contact discovered that the sidewall was separated from the thread of the rear passenger side tire. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician stated that the tire needed to be replaced. The tire was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 107,183 and the tire failure mileage was 319. MA 10/19/15
Brand new tires with less than 500 miles on them, after 2 attempts they still would not take a balance. Owner determined by spinning the tires on the vehicle that the tread block wobbled side to side and the sidewall height varied as the tire was rotated. Vendor replaced two of the four tires under warranty.

While cleaning truck, I noticed hundreds of small cracks in the tire sidewall area on all four tires. All small cracks were on the sidewall that was exposed. No cracks were observed on the inner sidewall area. No failure noted as of now but I'm leary about keeping these tires on the vehicle for safety reasons. The tires are Michelin xcx/apt truck/SUV tires that were installed on 10/2004 and they have only 33,268 miles on them so far (60K mile warranty). The vehicle is a 2000 Nissan Frontier xe, V6, 2wd. The tire size is P235/75R15.
Tire failure. Driving about 55mph, felt vibration in rear of truck then loud thumping noise (tread slapping rear fender). Stopped vehicle and discovered tread was missing from tire. Tire was not flat.
The rear driver side tire tread separated while driving between 65-70 mph, and caused damage to the truck's rear end. Please provide any additional information.
The tire tread came off the tire front and back on drivers side causing me to go out of control and damage to my driver 's side leaving me with out a vehicle four months.
While driving at 55mph front left tire blewout, consumer had to pull of the road. Firestone and dealer have been notified. Por favor de numero de llanta Y el numero del dot.
Currently the vehicle is at Allstar Nissan in baton rouge, la and the service department stated that it was a faulty tire and was one of the brands that was recalled. (tiresize: Ht21565R15)
During New York state motor vehicle inspection of above mentioned vehicle, it was pointed out by the licensed inspector that the tires on said vehicle showed an abnormal and excessive amount of cracking/checking in the deep portion of the tread(inner and outer grove of each tire). For a tire with these few miles and less than one year old the inspector felt that, eventhough they passed inspection, I should persue the matter further with regard to warrantee agreements. The inspector seem to feel that there was reason to be concerned about this tire if I was going to do some towing later in the year. I called Nissan motor-filed a report with them-they sent me to call on bf goodrich-filed a report with them.-bf goodrich sent me to a dealer that handles there claims-he looked at the tire and told me that it was dry rot and that it was normal-I have since gone to another nys motor vehicle inspection station, they seem to feel that this is not normal for a tire with these few miles and this age..I have since been looking at tires of other vehicles with even more miles and do not see any cracking/checking to the extent that I do with these tires..can someone please help? After purchase of the vehicle consumer notice vibration due to faulty tire, consumer replaced all four Firestone wilderness ht tires with another brand and request reimburesement. Nlm
The two rear tires were "out of round" at 6,943 (3/29/00) and replaced. At 12,289 (7/25/00) the driver's side front tire had a flat which was repaired. 3 out of 4 new tires isn't a fluke. I replaced the tires with michelen symmetry tires on 9/12/00. The dealer & manufacturer haven't responded personally to this problem. They seemed unconcerned about my safety concerns. Nissan dealer has attempeted several times to fix a vibration problem that gets worse with speeds between 65-80mph. They claim other customers have also had the same problems with the Firestone wilderness ht series tires. They have agreed to replace two.( dot number: Tire size: P215/65R15 )
The dealer claims that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. Yet they have replaced the tires twice. They are treating symptoms not fixing the problem.
