We bought a new 2012 Nissan Frontier pick-up with standard transmission. After 27,000 miles the clutch disintegrated. A $1,500 repair brought no help from Nissan for coverage under the 36,000 drive train warranty.
I called Nissan consumer repairs repeatedly to talk to talk to them about the issue. The representatives would never answer their phones and it took 2-3 days for them to call back. They would always just say, the parts are not warranted and this is normal wear and tear. The dealer we purchased it from (Bergstrom Nissan) was also totally uncooperative, so we took it to an independent garage for repairs and the comment by the mechanic was, "I can't believe this isn't covered under warranty. A clutch should last 100,000 miles."
This is the last Nissan we will ever own.
