After repeated contact with Nissan, they refuse to cover any of this repair, even though the vehicle is still under the 60,000 mile 60 month drivetrain warranty. The flywheel is listed as covered under the engine warranty. the clutch is listed as an exclusion because of normal wear and tear. Who ever hear of a clutch only lasting 27,000 miles. This is our 3rd standard transmission truck. The others were a Toyota and a Mazda. No problems with the clutch on those and our son is still driving the Mazda with 100,000+ miles on it. Nissan definitely has an inferior product and fails to stand behind their engine warranty.
Update from Jun 12, 2015: After filing a BBB complaint and again having it rejected, I finally got the name and number of a real person in the consumer affairs division. He listened to me when I referred him to the page in the warranty booklet that stated that the flywheel is covered under the 60,000 warranty and offered to meet us halfway. Today we received a check for $750 to cover the flywheel repairs. Thank you Nissan.
