The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH in cold weather with the seat belt connected, the seat belt warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the front passenger-??s side seat belt assembly and the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 89,333.
The passenger seat warning light.and seat sensor malfunctioned and now the passenger seat belt will not engage.I cannot have a passenger in my truck because of thi problem.I don't understand how thi could be safe at all.the manual says that when this happens to bring it in to the dealer because the sensor and the seat belt latch must be replaced. I've owned.many vehicles in my life and never ever had a seat belt failure like this.this is dangerous what if this occurs when I have a passenger in the vehicle and the seat belt.unmatched or won't unmatched. How can this be safe. No one gets into my vehicles without putting on the seat belts in N.Y.it is a violation
The seatbelt has been replace two time and the airbag light is still on, now you got to replace the seat cusion this cost $1766.67, this is a safety issue. Me and my wife was in lake city S.C. on hw 52 and the air bag starting flashing for the second time.
On the weekend September 17 2016 a red air bag light on my dashboard was and is blinking intermittent. I called three Nissan dealers and was informed that it is most likely the OCS sensor. Upon asking about the recall on Nissan OCS sensor I was told that the Frontier was not on the recall list. We feel that the OCS sensor on any Nissan vehicle should be on the recall list, no matter where the Frontier was manufactured. The red blinking light came on as we were going home. After I was told that the Frontier was on the list I was informed that the sensor would cost me $1180 we feel that this is not right or fair.
