Nissan has a major design flaw with their 2015 Nissan Frontier, the wheels throw rocks all over all of the fenders of the truck. Ever since i bought my truck as a certified pre-owned vehicle i have noticed a number of rock chip accumulating on both sides of the truck and on all of the side fenders around each of the 4 wheels. I don't have any off roading tires or any after market lifts that could cause this to occur, my truck is completely OEM and these rock chips are accumulating daily. Then I also never go off roading in my truck or drive on gravel roads, most of my driving is interstate as well as in town driving.

The truck has had the dealer installed mud guards since it came off the lot and the rock chips are still popping up all over the vehicle. I keep my truck super clean and every 2 weeks when i wash it, i play a horrifying game i like to call search for the new rock chips. Ohh and the game is even better when i wax my truck because then the wax i use on my truck causes all of the chips to show bright and white against my burgundy paint.

I have nothing against Nissan, and I absolutely love their products but this is just plain out disappointing, I worked my butt off to purchase this truck and I really love it but it looks like complete crap with all of these rock chips showing up all over it. You can even hear the wheels throwing rocks up on the vehicle while driving it on the highway.

So now with only 30,000 miles on it, I am considering getting a paint job that will cost thousands since Nissan will do nothing about it. Its just so disappointing to me because i am only 18 and this was my first vehicle that i bought on my own, and I worked long hours after school to be able to afford this truck I really wanted, but all I got was a bunch of disappointment.

paint chips on rear fenders just infront of rear wheel wells

Purchased my Frontier July 28th 2015. Currently as of Today have 34550. County Hwy and Interstate driving is the only surfaces my truck sees. NEVER seen a gravel road, Over the past few months I have noticed a significant amount of Rock chips forming on the Rear fenders just in front of the Wheel wells. I contacted my local Nissan Dealer to which they went through the standard protocol, Repair Estimate submit to Nissan ect. Nissan Denied the claim( #J0000776313 ) on the basis that it was an environmental issue and not a design flaw. This issue has obviously been recognized by Nissan as they have started to add clear chip guards to the area however do not protect the lower section where the chips occur. Based on the number of complaints and issues I have read here as well as other sites this is a known issue one that Nissan has chosen to ignore on what is otherwise a great truck. I will be questioning my next vehicle purchases.
