The contact indicated that the missing tow hitch created a safety hazard concerning the fuel tank in the event of a collision in the rear of the vehicle. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the issue, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V917000 (TRAILER HITCHES, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). The failure mileage was unknown.
