Juke 1.6L

  • CVT transmission
  • 38,249 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

That issue happened in April 2019, and I sent an email to Nissan Middle East but it look like they didn't give attention to the customer complaint as up to date they are not give me any satisfied solution and even they didn't give me any official reply, below my email to them.

Dear Nissan Team,

On 23rd September 2013, I purchased a motor vehicle (Juke, Model 2013, VIN: JN1BF5MEXDT150277) from Nissan dealership in Kuwait ABDULMOHSEN ABDULAZIZ AL BABTAIN. From day one, I did all the regular maintenance as per Nissan Service Center schedule. The vehicle is under Warranty for 5 years inclusive of Engine, CVT & Electricity parts. During the warranty period I complained about the vehicle CVT as the vehicle shakes while it’s starting to move and weak while climbing bridges or elevated roads. As usual the service center finding was that the issue has been resolved. I therefore request you to investigate the Nissan Service Center action about that complaint.

On 20th April 2019, the engine warning sign appeared. So I visited Nissan Service Center to report and then they requested me to leave the vehicle for inspection. After three days, I was informed about their findings; that is, the CVT has to be changed due to “found metal particle inside CVT” as per Inv. Dated 23 Apr 2019, as attached. Surprisingly, the estimated amount given to us is KD/=2,447.650 which is more than the present market value of a good running condition car at that time which is of KD/=1,700.000.

In my desire to find more about Juke “CVT issue” I explore and found out that in U.S.A. Nissan has extended the warranty to ten (10) years due to the same problem. I am providing you the below link for your reference. Having said that I believe my warranty period should also be extended to ten (10) years.

Altima, Sentra, Versa and Juke CVT Warranty Extension Reinstatement Requ...

My Comments:

· The vehicle runs only 61556 KM on the date it was reported to Nissan service center.

· All the needed services & spare parts were done by Nissan Service Center as scheduled.

· I believe if service center checked the CVT when I complained during warranty period the same way they did after the warranty expired there is no doubt they will discover the CVT problem.

Your reply is much appreciated,

Juke Tenka 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,895 miles

I brought this Nissan Juke 3 months ago with 19k on the clock. I've done just under 10k in this time so the mileage is under 30k. Last week the car started to rattle at the front and shuddering. It seems the useless cvt is at fault.

I rang Nissan and they told me the car had already been recalled and the cvt replaced, though they wouldn’t tell me when, I said surely a car shouldn’t go through two cvts in less than 30k miles. I've been advised by Nissan to get a diagnostic at a Nissan dealer costing £68. When I've to ring Nissan back with the results, they said they're not obliged to consider any help with the repair as it’s already been done. They said they’d pass it on for a decision which will take three days. The cost of another cvt is around 8k more than I paid for the car.

Surely this isn’t right that a car under 30k miles needs a third cvt and I could be covering the cost. I’m lost what to do or whether trading standards will help, as in my view Nissan's cvt isn’t fit for it’s purpose it’s fitted for. Any advice or help is gratefully appreciated.

Juke S

  • CVT transmission
  • 98,400 miles

I have not received a full quote, but again Nissan is taking 70% off for Goodwill Assistance. I appreciate they are doing everything they can to assist, but 3 major car repairs in less than 5 months is pretty bad! I had the Timing Chain, Turbo, and CVB Transmission go on me between 94000 to 99000 miles on the car. These are repairs I would expect to see in the 150K-200K mile range. I am very disappointed. I used to be a very loyal and happy Nissan owner. My next vehicle will be a Honda or Toyota.

I purchased the car March 6 and we went for a little test drive. I wasn't able to drive over 45 50 miles. Wednesday the 7th I drove it to work and went 45 to 50 miles per hour and it was like driving a standard, it wasn't shifting right. I called on my lunch break to let them know the issue. Mind you, it wasn't even 24 hours within having the car. It also made a weird noise just sitting there, started.

I'm a single mom of a 3.5 year old. They reassured me a million times it was a safe car. I absolutely hate it and I haven't drove it since then. I contacted Nissan Corp., the Better Business Bureau and a few others to make complains. I signed up for Legal Shield, they are supposed to be getting me a lawyer. I want to get a lawyer asap and get this started.

Juke Sport Pack 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,742 miles

I bought a 2013 model Nissan Juke Sport Pack A/T 1.6 at 2014 May from a local distributor Nissan in Istanbul with such an expectation and love. We really liked the design. Really enjoyed driving this car until now.

I also learned that my guarantee ended at 10 Jan 2017 which is should be 25ish May 2017 because I've received the car key from Distributor of Nissan at 27 May 2014, how is this even possible? If we looked what their told me, my guarantee ended after 2, 5 years which should be 3 year. What a luck i didnt get this fault in my 3 year guarantee period!!!

Today its 3, 5 years old and @36600Km. It has no crash or something else. Well cared car and most of the time was spent in car park. We didn't even smoke in it. All services done at official local distributor, even before reaching its normal km. I even bought all my insurances from same distributor. But today when i go to service to make yearly control, i've learned that CVT Transmission is needs a repair . Such an disappointment for us and we are very sad now. its cost simply too much.

I also learned that its not an user error. But it is not support by guarantee. We wrote to the Nissan HQ in Turkey but they rejected it. Its just passed 6 month and gave this much fault. Total cost of this service approx. $2100(CVT is approx $1500) if I repair everything including CVT Transmission.

Please consider our situation. That much fault is not normal for such an well cared, accident-free and low used, low km car. This repair also has no guarantee for not repeating same fault.

Due to this fault our cars market value decreased, I may be sell it to certain amount before this fault but know I need to pay for repair and have to decrease my market value of my car.

I would like to kindly ask that at least taking care of my CVT Transmission error as in guarantee and change/repair. I'm also ok with for paying workmanship.

Juke SL I4 V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 62,806 miles

I detected a whining sound that I put off getting checked out. I had it in for an oil change and mentioned the whining and took the service technician for a ride to hear it. They acknowledged the unhealthy sound and discovered metal shavings when they dropped some pan? Not an auto whiz! I'm blessed that it was still under an extended warranty but also worried that a car that I plan to drive for many miles would need a new transmission at 62,806 miles. It would have been a $4500 repair!! I'm also worried the Turbo is going out. I'm losing power.

Juke SV 1.6L Turbo

  • CVT transmission
  • 96,474 miles

I have a 2013 Nissan Juke SV 1.6 Turbo. The problem started when I had to take the juke in to fix the 2 recalls. The engine oil started to leak after changing the timing belt (recall). Out of the blue, my RPM would go and stay at 3000 each time I started the vehicle. I took it for a drive and set it on manual drive to see what is wrong. I was missing the 5th and 6th gear.

Took it to Nissan Dealer and told me my transmission was finished. They couldn't explain why. It cost me $5300CAD to replace the transmission. They couldn't do anything about it. But they agreed that the oil leaking problem was their fault and will fix for free. 80% of my driving is highway driven. The vehicle is 2 yrs old, really?

This is my second Nissan and was going to buy my third. But after this experience, I would reconsider.
