I was turning on a highway loop and I'm short so I had the seat all the way up to be able to see. When I started turning there was a bunch of cars behind me and the back of the seat made a loud popping noise and I hit my head on the window because the back right of it gave out. I pulled to the side of the road and got my self together. This happened to another coworker with another Nissan Murano but she had less problems since she's a tall woman and when the seat broke it didn't go all the way down. Looking at the seat the back right of it has a big metal bar piece that snapped. It no longer goes all the way up making it a hazard to drive without getting it fixed. * dsy

On March 29, 2018 I sat down in my car and felt the drivers seat move downward for the first time. When I got home I exited the car and got back in the same thing happened again. There was no indication of anything being broken or out of place prior to the 29th of March. Additionally, I have not been in any accidents, nor has any one driven my car besides myself. As of today (April 2, 2018) I have taken my car to a mechanic for an estimate and will check with another repair shop on April 3, 2018.

From normal usage, the front side driver's seat broke (in 2016) from what I believe is a defective seat bracket. Now the seat wobbles and rocks whenever I am driving and when the car moves side to side at all. Seat broke upon exiting vehicle. I weigh 163 pounds and am the primary driver. No sudden movement created the break.

I have always been a fan of Nissan until now my driver side seat broke, one of the brackets on the left side has completely broken in half, and by the looks of the many complaints Nissan has gotten about the very same issue it is very clear to me this is a factory issue. I do not understand how they have investigated this issue and came to the conclusion that it is not a safety issue just by the fact that there has only been a free minor injuries so far, the whole point in issuing a recall is to prevent injury, due to the high number of complaints should be probable cause for a recall in itself. That is ridiculous how has no one issued a lawsuit against you people yet.

My drivers side seat just broke on the back left side so now you can't sit in it and drive. I now sit crooked in the seat and don't feel safe driving it, what if I was in an accident and my seat now might throw me somewhere because it is now broken. This should be a recall.

Drivers seat, left rear side of seating area dropped along with upright back support reclining backwards creating a most unstable situation. Inspection revealed complete clean break of adjusting support bracket. Research reveals this to be a serious problem with Nissan Murano vehilces 2003 thru possibly 2008. No known recalls that I am aware of. Estimates from Nissan dealers are reported in the $1,200 range for repair. Unless the factory steps up to the plate, I have purchased my last Nissan vehicle.............ever.......

Making a turn onto a cross street and heard a loud popping noise, followed by the driver seat becoming unstable. When the turn was completed, it became obvious the driver seat was broken. I did some research and found that this is a known problem with the Murano, and has been reported numerous times across multiple model years. Appears that there was even an attempt to force a recall, but that was never followed through. Filed a complaint with Nissan - required a detailed service report (~$125) before they would do anything. Found that they would not fix for any car outside of warranty (and this apparently usually happens after the warranty period has expired). Typical dealer cost to repair is $800 to $1200. Can also be self-fixed by replacing a bracket ($100) or welding the broken piece (~$80). To me, this is a dangerous situation as the seat can break at any time when the metal has fatigued. I felt fortunate to not have this happen at a higher speed.

The driver seat bracket broke on the left side. The seat now tilts to the left. When discovered vehicle was parked and not used. On that day I just sit in the car and seat tilted to the left. Looked under neat the seat and saw that the meat bracket that holds the seat broke in two. This is serious safety issue for me as a driver. I am just glad that the bracket did not break while driving that could have caused an accident. Read several forums on internet where people complain about same problem. Nissan needs to fix this issue. Recall is needed.

Seat bracket broke when my wife was driving down the road. This caused the seat to tilt forward. I called the local Nissan dealership and they wanted $1036 dollars for a part, for safety reasons should be recalled. If one of these brackets(they have a problem with front and back) breaks during a wreck, the seat angle could effect the effectiveness of airbags. My wife is scared to drive it. This seems to be a problem with these vehicles. Called Nissan Corp. They said there was nothing they could do because there is no active campaign to recall.

The driver seat frame railing (left side of frame) has broken causing the seat to drop down a few inches. The left of the seat can actually be lifted up due to the frame separation. The seat is no longer being attached to two tracks but only one. I'd like to add that this is the second time this defect has occurred. The first time and second time defects are exactly the same.

The driver side seat bracket failed during routine cornering. The seat now sits several inches lower to the left and rocks during cornering. This could have been a serious safety situation if this had occurred at highs speeds. This appears to be common problem with this vehicle, and I find it hard to believe that Nissan has not issued a recall.

As I was making a left turn driver seat broke off the left track causing the seat to rock dangerously. This seems a common problem in this vehicle I have seen and heard about many other cases. This should be a recall from Nissan to fix the faulty seat track mechanism. I have been able to temporarily fix this problem by welding the track, however this keeps happening and has become a danger to my life. I am not sure if this problem could be fixed any more. I was given a quote of $1,200 dollars by my Nissan dealer, however, I am going to continue the temporary fix described above and when that ultimately completely fails, I have no idea what to do. I hope Nissan finally realizes that this is a factory problem which needs to be recall before a big tragedy happens and someone looses their life/lives, and Nissan gets sued for millions of dollars. Nissan cars are expensive and not enough said about their pricey parts!!
