My 2014 Nissan Murano began having problems with jerking, slipping and running sluggish. The problems usually occurs after about 15 minutes of driving. The vehicle then stopped accelerating and would only roll backwards. The check engine light came on then it went off. I took the Murano to the Nissan dealership to to get it diagnosed. It was diagnosed as "transmission failure". I was told that the total cost to fix it is $9331.63. The cost of the transmission is absolutely ridiculous. The Murano has less than 140,000 miles. Other transmission shops do not, want to replace a Nissan CVT transmission because they say it's tricky. Mechanics at other repair shops said that it is a very expensive repair and it exceeds the value of the vehicle.

After reading numerous complaints about the Nissan CVT transmissions, Nissan should have recalled and fixed the transmissions.

I brought my Nissan Murano into the dealer to get Air Filter, Oil Change and Transmission Serviced, this past Saturday, 8-13. I got the bill paid it and left. The next day, I am noticing jerking in the car when I completely stop, and when starting to accelerate again, the cars jerks into gear. On Thursday morning, 8-18-22, on my way to work I noticed an excessive amount of jerking and rumbling when I stop the car. When I started the car, I pressed the accelerator to drive and it took approximately 1 minute before I got up to speed.

I took it to the dealer and the dealer says that my transmission is slipping and about to go. This is the third Nissan I have owned and the second one with a transmission problem. 1. Is there a constant problem with Nissan's transmission? 2. Is there a recall with the 14 Nissan Murano? 3. I read a site that said they were only build to last up to 180,000 miles... is that true? Why would it be limited to last to a certain mileage?

We were driving out of town for the holiday weekend and the car begin to hesitate for about 2 hours on and off. We then started hearing a wearing noise and then it would not accelerate more than 40 miles/hr. We then had to pray we made it off the highway and waited 2 hours for a tow truck to arrive. It cost us $85.00 to tow car to Nissan dealership who then made us wait more than 24 hrs to diagnose the problem and proceeded to tell us, because the 100,000 mile warranty was extended and the car is over the 100,000 miles, it will cost us over $5,000.00 to fix the problem. My husband then negotiated a 15% discount. We were told we would have to wait till after the holiday to have the care repaired.

Big inconvenience because here we were out of town (5 1/2) hrs away from home and then had to rent a car to complete out trip and return home. Almost a week later we received a call from the dealership stating the part didn't come in and if we wanted to come get the vehicle, we could take it to a different mechanic for repair. We received 2 call stating that. My husband called them back and said we are not sure why we would come get the car and do what with it exactly? He then said they received a call from the supplier and was told the part would arrive the following Wednesday. This would be on 9/15/21. At this point we are 9 days without our car. Needless to say a huge inconvenience for 2014 Nissan Murano we thought was a reliable car.

We had transmission issues at 62,000 miles and needed to have transmission replaced. Had the transmission replaced at a Nissan Dealer on 8/4/18... The replacement transmission came with a 1year/12K warranty from Nissan. Then at 75,500 miles, the same thing happened. The transmission gave out while we were driving. Took it to the dealership and was told that while it was within a year, we were around 2,000 miles past the 12K warranty of the replacement transmission. It is costing us $4800 to replace the transmission again. There is something wrong with these transmissions. It is obvious from all the complaints Nissan gets on all their models.
