This is regarding a 2009 Vibe that has a 2.4 L engine and FWD. Shortly after entering the highway and accelerating to 100 kph the car emitted a very loud humming noise. The tachometer reached 6500 and remained there. In an attempt to pass a vehicle the car would not accelerate. After exhibiting the highway the tachometer went down and the humming noise disappeared. I just learned the the power train warranty expired in September of 2013. Have tried searching to see if anyone else has had this experience and whether there are any technical bulletins. However, so far I have been unable to find this problem having been reported, or documented. I drove to a dealer 2 November 2013 but their transmission mechanic was not in at work.
