Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 138,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 248,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that a mileage discrepancy was discovered after the purchase of the vehicle. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 158,000. It was later discovered that the title mileage was 156,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the parking brake and check engine warning lights illuminated. The messages "ABS Unavailable" and "Traction Control Unavailable" were displayed. Additionally, the speedometer was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced, but the parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 184,000.
